Sound: The sound at this concert was quite simply amazing. Stipes voice was perfectly in tune, and the sound levels were all perfect. It did seem overwhelmingly loud at first, but this soon subsided as you got use to the sound. The bassist in REM is very good, as is the lead guitarist and drummer. // 10
Perfomance: The crowd loved them. Being an old band, there were alot of middle aged people there, but also suprisingly alot of young people (I'm 15) there aswell, and they all seemed to love them. They opened on "Bad Day" which is a killer song as the guitar riff leads from a huge build up of distortion. They played all thier old classics like "Everybody Hurts" and "Losing My Religion," and Stipes acroabts on stage were most entertaining, as was his between songs chat. The band put on a very good performace, and had the crowd the whole way through. // 10
Impression: England; Hull; Kingston Communications Stadium; 5th July 2005. Amazingly enough "The Zutons" were the support band for REM. They were quite simply amazing, and they really got the crowd hyped up for the main act. The lighting and screens were all very good, and the unique layout of the arena meant that you were never that fat away from the stage, even though there must have been at least 10,000 people there. A classic band, and would definately recommend going to see them. // 10
