USA (Salt Lake City), July 13, 2006 Review

USA (Salt Lake City), July 13, 2006
They had a lot of lights going on and alot of moments where the crowd banded together, such as there was a young man in a wheel chair who was randomly lifted in the air by people he didn't even know.

Sound: Davey Havok, is such an amazing vocalist, he knows what he is doing. At this show you could obviously say without a feeling of guilt that he sings as good live as he does on the album. He feeds off the raw energy of the audience which in turn he returns his own form of raw energy in forms of comments and abnormally placed screams. Obviously Afi is one of the best bands live. I would say these guys sounded so good live that it was almost like they were playing the songs off CDs through the PA. 'Nuff Said. // 10

Perfomance: As an audience everybody was going crazy being Afi hasn't seen Utah in over 3 years, you have no idea when they are coming back so your not gonna take this for granted. They played an array of songs off of the albums 'The Art Of Drowning,' 'Decemberunderground' and 'Sing The Sorrow.' They started off with 'Prelude 12/12' and went straight into their single off the new album 'Miss Murder' which they played suberb. They played 'Death Of Seasons' Silver and Cold' Girls Not Grey' and they all sounded equally tasty as on the album. They had a lot of lights going on and alot of moments where the crowd banded together, such as there was a young man in a wheel chair who was randomly lifted in the air by people he didn't even know. This is what I call amazing. How people band together and are like one at a show. // 10

Impression: This show was held at the Fair Ground in Salt Lake City, Utah it was on July 13th. The opener gor this show were 'The Dillinger Escape Plan' and 'Nightmare Of You.' The openers I did not enjoy at all, they were pretty much the definition of crap. But thats my opinion. This show was 19 bucks plus fees made it 26.10 which is an amazing price to pay for such a great band. I will go to the next show if Afi ever returns to utah I hope they do badly. // 10

i saw them live in Atlanta and it was a waste of my 20 bucks, they suck and the lead singer looks gay in my opinion

^ then why did you go? why would you pay $20.00 for a band you don't like and think the lead singer looks gay.

I think you should be to blame for your loss of 20 bucks, not AFI, you just shouldn't have gone.
