Ease of Use: THis pedal is pretty easy to use overall. It has 7 different tuning modes, ranging from regular, to flat, to double flat and chromatic. The reference tone is also adjustable from 438hz to 445hz. It also has a mute function. All of this is very well, but I have never really used any of the modes. I simply plug it in and stomp on it. It is fine like this and will give accurate tuning to both my guitar and bass. // 9
Sound: I use this with my band for gigs and shows. It tunes my bass up accurately and easily. The mute function is also very good, as it lets you tune completely silently. It also stops the bass 'humming' through the amp between songs and sets. It is very good in this respect. As I have said before, I have not used many of the tuning modes (flat, double flat, etc) because I play totally and exclusively in standard tuning. // 9
Reliability & Durability: I would depend on it at a gig and continue to do so. I use this with a 9v power supply because I have a major distrust of batteries. I find it much safer and cheaper in the long run to fork out for a power supply. That way, you don't get halfway through a song, and realise the pedal has run out of batteries and have to change it before you can continue playing. The casing is plastic, so it isn't going to be anywhere near as durable as a metal cased pedal, but it has stood up to quite a lot of abuse so far and continues to work fine. // 9
Impression: I found it very hard to rewiew this tuner, because half of the rewiew criteria didn't apply, ie I can't really comment on the sound of a tuner, but hey, I tried my best. I really do think that this pedal was very good value for the money, and gives the convenience of it being in pedal form, rather than having to mess about with the conventional rectangular tuners. The LED display is very bright and easy to see on a dark stage, with a green LED to tell you when you are in tune. There is also a red Status indicator to let you know whether it's on or off. Overall, this tuner is excellent value and I would definitly recommend it to anyone! // 9

Ease of Use: This is a tuning pedal so it's gonna be hard to make a review, because there isn't much to explain. It is easy to use. It has an input (you plug your guitar in here), an output (to the amplifier or to another effect), and a bypass (also goes to your amp or next effect). You might think: "Huh! two same things?". I'll explain later. There is also an input jacket for a 9V adapter. If you want to put in a battery it will be more complicated, because I don't know where to put it in. I don't care because I prefer to use an adapter. // 8
Sound: Of course, it isn't important what guitar or amplifier you have, because it's a tuning pedal. It is really accurate, and a good way to tune your guitar on a stage. All you need to do is hit the pedal. When you are tuning, there is NO sound, which is good. If you want to hear your guitar when you tune, you can use the bypass function. It would also be a good idea (when you're on a stage) to plug your "normal" amp in the output, and a smaller amp in the bypass. There are several ways you can tune, also alternative tuning // 9
Reliability & Durability: I can really depend on it, but the contact from the input jacket was having some trouble, but I fixed that with a bit of contact spray. I don't need a backup for it (I have another tuner with a microphone for my acoustic guitar). I don't expect to have more trouble with it in the future, because it's just very simple and solid. // 7
Impression: I can really recommend this tuner. Every guitar player needs a tuner, so you'de better buy the right one. When you don't want a pedal (for example for acoustic guitars, or when you need something you can take in your pocket) I can also recommend the Korg GA-30, but this Behringer pedal is a better option if you don't use it for acoustic guitars. By the way: the don't accept my review for the Korg tuner, so I can't tell you a lot about it. // 8

Ease of Use: This is a multi FX pedal, so obviously it is not going to have the same range of sounds as a dedicated fx pedal. There are 3 controls for each effect, one being level. The sound is adequate for the price. It takes a lot of fiddling to get a good sound with it, but I wasn't expecting a great pedal for so cheap. It is also annoying to have to change all the settings when you change effects so I put marks on it to remember my preferred settings. The manual as with all Behringer pedals is shotty at best. // 6
Sound: I use this pedal with a Seagull acoustic, Ibanez ax and a Epiphone Les Paul. Other then the Seagull acoustic, you can tell I'm all about cheap guitars. It sounds ok with all the guitars, but the effects never sound as good as say my brothers Boss Chorus pedal. Some effects are much better then others. Obviously the pitch shift and tremolo sound good, but the flanger and chorus really leave something to be desired as far as quality of sound. I run it through a chain from guitar to mister crybaby to DigiTech distortion to multi FX to Behringer tuner. Both this pedal and my tuner produce a hum when all hooked up in the long chain which isn't that pronounced but if I use distortion built in on amps it becomes very obnoxious. // 7
Reliability & Durability: I have used this pedal for 2 small gigs without a back up. However if I was playing a large show, I would deffinately swap it out for a better pedal. As with all Behringer pedals, the quality of construction is shotty as they are made out of a fairly malleable plastic. There is damage to the bottom created by the pressure of the screw that holds it to my pedal board. // 5
Impression: I play a lot of punk, rock and metal. However, I also used it for acoustic guitar on one occasion. It is a fairly universal pedal but it's still not high quality effects. The attraction to this pedal for me was the price. I don't use effects that often, and when I do, it's just light chorus or something to that effect. If I was a professional, I would definitely not use this pedal, but for small gigs and jamming with friends, there is nothing wrong with it. If it were lost or stolen, I think I would replace it with something better like a DigiTech multi FX unit. Overall, if you are looking for a cheap pedal, but want to use a lot of different effects, but not a the same time, then this pedal would be a good purchase. // 7

No it can't. This pedal absolutely sucks. Its not worth the 20 bucks I paid for it. Mine worked for about a month, then the calibration got messed. It doesn't tune acurately at all. Its constantly off by about a quarter step, making it's 1 and only function completely useless.
Don't even bother. Get a boss TU2. It costs more, but its worth it to have a reliable tuner rather than the piece of junk that is the tu100.POSTED: 10/30/2007 - 01:40 am / quote |
