You can use the equlaizer button to turn it into a heavy metal guitar. The model can save money on FX pedals.

Purchased from: Brittens music

Features: The amp comes with 2 volume knobs (one for the distortion one for the clean tone) and is surprisingly loud for a 16 watt amplifier. It also has 3 equalizer controls and a reverb control. You also get your standard guitar input and headphone socket and you also get a cd/tape input. You plug that socket into a cd/ tape player and play along with your favourite songs, and it is very helpful when learning.

This amp is mainly used at home and when I do band practice/guitar lessons. I havent had a gig yet so I dont know if in would use it there. The amplifier is a brand new series of kustoms so excpect the year to be within 2001-2003. Not as many features as most amps but for an amp this size (16 watt) its got more than most 16 watts.

Sound: The guitar I'm using through this amp is a Vintage VSA535CR which is a jazz guitar. And I must admit it sounds beautiful. The amp comes with a booklet that tells you whow to get certain sounds like "mellow jazz," "punk" and "heavy metal" etc and it nails them down great. The distortion on this amp is quite good but you get a lot of feedback which is very annoying. But the distortion sounds good when combined with an array of pedals. The whole amp just compliments every pedal. // 10

Reliability & Durability: The amp has never broken down at all. All thats happend is the bagdge that was glued on which said "powered by celestion" on it has fallen off, leavin a rather ugly lump of glue on the amp. I could depend on this amp easily. I've used it everyday and it has never broke down. // 8

Impression: I play a wide variety of music from AC/DC to Zwan and this amp never fails to deliver a beautiful tone. If this completly broke down and was impossible to fix I would buy a new one in a flash. This is a great amp it might be expenisve for a 16 watt but if you have the money. Please, give a Kustom KGA16R a home! // 10

I use this amp aswell, and I really like it. It's a lot louder than it looks, which is cool. And again you can play just about anything on it.

I disliked the distortion though. It didn't give the hard crunch I wanted, and was really.. "fat"?

I use it on the clean channel with a DEQ2 overdrive pedal and I really like the sound out of it.
