This EP is a pretty great thing to listen to. It's not the most inlfuential or new album to hit the market but it's entertaining.

Sound: Forget about all the bands that call themselves "melodic hardcore." Taken is the epitome of melodic hardcore. Ambient sounding guitars blend with brutal screams and lighting quick drumming. What Taken did is create beauty in some of the darkest places. // 10

Lyrics and Singing: Don't expect the sing/scream stuff that is popular with today's fashioncore scene. Ray of Taken (now of Mikoto) screamed. But with music this melodic, his screaming was not so much anger as it was passion. Emotion. The lyrics are expressive and you can understand his anger. He screams like he wants the entire world to know. // 10

Impression: Between Two Unseens is Taken's most recent and best in my opinion. It is a 5 song EP, but is worth the price. This is as melodic and pretty as I've ever heard hard music. Think "Satellite Years" era Hopesfall. Unfortunately, Taken broke up in 2004. Ray know does vocals for Mikoto, and Nick plays bass for circa survive. Between Two Unseens is like a time capsule of a sound that other bands have not even tried to emulate in favor of cheesy metalcore ripoffs. RIP Taken. // 10
