Perry Farrell On The Glorious Reunion Of Janes Addiction

artist: perry farrell date: 05/20/2008 category: video news

At the first ever NME awards in The U.S. on April 23rd in Hollywood, Ca., the original lineup of Jane's Addiction, which includes singer Perry Farrell, guitarist Dave Navarro, drummer Stephen Perkins along with bassist Eric Avery, performed together for the first time in 17 years. The performance of four classic Jane's Addiction songs, "Stop," "Mountain Song," "Jane Says" and "Ocean Size" thrilled the small crowd who were lucky enough to attend. For years, Avery had denied performing with Jane's Addiction but changed his just a week before the show, since he thought the band was honoring their legacy, by recieving the 'God Like Genius Award,' rather than trying to recreate it.

We caught up with Perry Farrell at The 2008 Kidzapalooza lineup announcement and BBQ to get his thoughts on returning to the stage once again with the four original members of Jane's Addiction.

Perry Farrell On The Glorious Reunion Of Janes Addiction

"Well getting back together with Jane's Addiction was fairly intense. I was getting throbbing headaches and then I was getting spurts of joy and gloriousness up there. And I ended up with a big smile on my face, what can I say."

Jane's Addiction only released three studio albums and one live album in their brief career, however the band was easily one of the most influential bands on Rock Music in the 1990's. At the end of 2006, Jane's Addiction released their first ever greatest hits album titled 'Up From the Catacombs - The Best of Jane's Addiction' and according to the band's drummer, Stephen Perkins, who controls the 'Jane's Addiction Audio Vault,' that was just the beginning of a three part package the band plans on releasing for their fans.

James_Calalo :
they will re-unite then they couldn't withstand one another so why reunite then disband again it shouldn't be a big deal at all I think a good reunion will doesn't have to include money at all for it will just ruin everything at all

hope this time it's for good....I guess Satellite Party broke up since Nuno reunited w/Extreme. I hope to work w/Jane's Addiction...they're just one of those bands that kick ass when they're together, but don't do as well when they go solo.
