My Chemical Romance has expanded its final US run in support of platinum-selling album "The Black Parade."
In addition to adding a few new cities to the spring schedule--Cleveland; New York; Birmingham, AL; St. Louis, MO; and Columbus, OH--the theatrical alt-rockers have tacked on second nights in Portland, OR; Chicago; Detroit and Philadelphia. They also have two-night stands booked in Las Vegas and San Francisco, and will cross the border April 12 for a festival gig in Mexico City.
The previously announced Denver show has been moved from April 13 to 14, and tickets will be honored for the new date.
My Chemical Romance, which is currently wrapping a tour of South America, has tapped Billy Talent and Drive By to open the US outing, which is set to launch March 28 in Tempe, AZ. The coast-to-coast trek will visit intimate venues, with one exception: the May 9 finale at New York City's legendary Madison Square Garden. Bassist Mikey Way called the gig "the show of our dreams" in a posting at MCR's website.
"This is a great goodbye to 'The Black Parade' tour and the beginning of the next chapter in MCR," he said. "Not only that, but we get to share it with our best friends in the world--Taking Back Sunday and Drive By."

: That's cool about Madison Square Garden, but I think we (as in people who like the band) are all pretty sick of The Black Parade at this point.POSTED: 02/29/2008 - 07:02 am / quote |

: im pretty happy. bands that are really good or popular usually dont come to alabama but rap does. but they have been having more and more bands come in. i just hope they make their music a bit more depressing. the chords are usually to bright for me and the pattern is usually quarter notes or eighth notes .POSTED: 02/29/2008 - 08:49 pm / quote |

they have "chapters"?
that is so gay. it should be about the music.
that's just like KISS. The unmasked era and the painting era and all that crap.
So gay dude. |
It is about the music, The Black Parade was a different approach to music though so they wanted to separate it from there other music. They don't plan on moving in that direction in the future, it's sort of like having a side project but not quite so much side. And btw, don't say it's all about the music, every band has an 'image'. Death metal and how they are vikings, kill goats and burn down churches. Rap and the bling or the oversized shirts. Even if a band doesnt have the stereotypical image they have some image. Oh and concerts are so much better when they have lots of pyrotechnics, so it's also about the performance.POSTED: 03/01/2008 - 02:08 am / quote |

I was thinking the same thing then.

Im glad theyre ending it, ive heard theyre going back to their old, heavier stuff. So it should be good.
Hopefully with all the members this time POSTED: 03/03/2008 - 06:29 am / quote |

i do listen to protest the hero.
and MCR is one of my favorite bands.
its called having a wide ranged musical interest. :]
unlike many of the people on here.
just saying. no offense or anything.
PTH is a really amazing band as well.
buttt, i'm excited i get to see my boys at Madison Square Garden with Taking Back Sunday.
this will be my second time seeing MCR and third for TBS and they have never let me down :]
its a good way to end TPB and i'm ready for the new stuff to come along.POSTED: 03/19/2008 - 08:19 pm / quote |

: lol geez sorry everyone , just saying you know mcr has had sooooo so so much attention that protest and very skilled bands liek august burns red and kinda being put in the shadows, liek they need some more attention, pth luke hoskin's guitar work crushes ray's any day im not gonna lie, you can go look for yourself, but still my chem is still in the spotlight...POSTED: 03/29/2008 - 12:24 pm / quote |
Seto-Blade
: Actually, Ray is one of the better guitarists of today.
Compared to a lot of bands out there, he's really incredible and in all honesty is way better than Luke Hoskin.POSTED: 04/06/2008 - 08:40 pm / quote |

Does that mean that MCR will do a concert 2 times in those cities, or do they mean that they will just be in those cities for 1 extra day?
Please let me know!!
