Metallica To Co-Headline KROQ-FM's 'Weenie Roast' This Month

KROQ-FM (106.7) announced on May 5 that Metallica will co-headline the station's annual Weenie Roast on May 17 at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Irvine, California. Other performers include The Offspring, The Raconteurs, Rise Against, Pennywise, Bad Religion, The Bravery and Flogging Molly.

The Weenie Roast will be formally announced this morning on "The Kevin and Bean Show" on KROQ, and on-sale information will be coming shortly from the station via the airwaves and its web site, kroq.com.

The new Metallica album is tentatively due out in September, with U.S. tour dates possibly in the works for around the same time.

The band has scheduled a slew of European festival dates for May, June, July and August in addition to two other U.S. shows, on May 16 at a radio festival in Tucson, Arizona and mid-June at the Bonnaroo Festival in Tennessee.

Well I never thought I'd see Pennywise and Metallica on the same bill. I don't think this is a good fit for them.I just read something that said Amazon has the release at October 28.

I bought tickets to the KMFA Day show in Tucson, AZ as soon as they went on sale well over a month ago. Then they go and announce this as I already have my non refundable tix to KMFA. I live in San Diego btw and Irvine is only half an hour's drive away, compared to 6 hours from SD to Tucson.
