Legendary hard rockers UFO have announced plans to begin work on their twentieth studio album, which should be out next year.
While no further more information is currently available, the band has just begun writing the material and plans to return to the studio in late 2008/early 2009 to start recording the new album.
UFO's latest CD, "The Monkey Puzzle", came out in September 2006 via SPV Records. The follow-up to 2004's "You Are Here" was recorded at Area 51 Studios with producer Tommy Newton, who also worked with the band on their prior album and who recorded the material for the band's "Showtime" live CD.
Thanks for the report to Metalunderground.com.

I wish Michael Schenker was in UFO again. Without him, I wouldn't buy any UFO records without Mr. Schenker. It's just totally crazy how they would continue without him. I actually like MSG better than UFO, I saw MSG back in the early 80s (yes, I'm so damn old).POSTED: 07/22/2008 - 12:40 pm / quote |

: ^ Well the non Schenker albums with Paul Chapman on guitars are pretty good I wouldn't overlook them at all. But this is great I love UFO. It is nice to see that there are still some great rock bands that UG will do articles on instead of the trendy mallcore shitbands that they normally do articles on.
Rock on Phil, Pete, Paul, Andy and Vinnie!POSTED: 07/22/2008 - 12:56 pm / quote |

: UFO with Schenker were the best, but Paul Chapman albums were awesome too. MSG were just epic too
Don't like Vinnie Moore though, he's too much of a shredder to really belong in UFO.
