The Raconteurs: Live Albums For Fans!

The Raconteurs are set to release a live album from each night of their up coming UK tour, according to NME.com.

A double CD will be recorded during each show and will be available for fans to buy as they leave the venue.

The "official bootlegs", which will be limited to 1000 copies, will feature exclusive artwork along with a special version of the band's forthcoming single 'Broken Boy Soilders' recorded for US radio station KCRW. For more information go to Concertlive.co.uk.

10/14 - Glasgow Academy
10/15 - Manchester Apollo
10/18 - Newcastle Academy
10/19-20 - London Brixton Academy
10/22 - Bristol Colston Hall
10/23 - Nottingham Rock City
10/24 - Wolverhampton Civic Hall
10/25 - Liverpool University

The "official bootlegs" follows a similar move by Keane who are releasing a record from each show on their UK tour, and it is expected more bands will make use of the technology on future treks.

actually, I believe Pearl Jam actually released a live album for each show, rather than give it to fans after the show.

emhaslam, they'll probably be burning as the show goes on, and can you imagine the qeues to get one? They'll have plenty time.

Fairly good idea, although I bet there's some serious scrummage to get them. I've heard of this being done at some classical concert - where you can buy the CD of the show you just saw as you leave, I wasn't aware of it being as common as you guys say.

I think this a cool idea cause when someone goes to a concert they'll be able to remember it for the rest of their lives by listening to the cd(until it gets scratched). I'm not a big fan of the racounteurs, but it's a good idea.

funeral for a friend did this last year. its a cool idea though as long as the sound didnt **** up at that particular venue.

Yey! I got a album from Manchster. I tried shouting 'I love you' out, but the crowd is really quiet on the Cd and can hardly be heard. It's good though.
