Radiohead: Live Video Album

Radiohead has released a live video album exclusively on iTunes to coincide with the band's run of U.K. outdoor concerts, according to Reuters.

"In Rainbows - From the Basement," made available Tuesday, features the British rock band performing its current album at the Hospital studio in London's Covent Garden.

Radiohead's longtime producer Nigel Godrich is behind the "From The Basement" music TV show, which screens on digital satellite channel Sky Arts in the U.K. and online. In the United States, VH1 showed selections from the Radiohead Hospital performance on May 3.

There are live performances of every "In Rainbows" song with the exception of "Faust Arp" and "Jigsaw Falling Into Place." There are also renditions of "Bangers + Mash" and "Go Slowly" from the bonus disc included with the deluxe discbox edition of the album.

Thanks for the info to Reuters.

i saw them live a couple months back at The Woodlands Pavillion, and even as a huge metal fan, i must say it was the most amazing show I've ever seen. from the fiber optic light show to the acoustics set up, i had goosebumps all night.

ever.

it's my opinion and i don't care if one of you fourteen year old kids try to bash me for it.

I saw them last night. They were terrific as always. Played every song off In Rainbows as well as Bangers n Mash and Go Slowly.

Myxomatosis, The Bends, My Iron Lung, Optimistic were all aired too. Song of the night, probably Karma Police. Everyone carried on singing it after they went off-stage so they had to come back on and do three more!

i like radioheads older stuff where they actually have some rock included, but i found in rainbows to be a joke. it's just not good and i think the band is becoming way too over rated. it's becoming too cool for people to call radiohead the best ever and it's annoying. i dont hear any talent on in rainbows

I honestly didn't like Radiohead as much as I do now before In Rainbows came out.

You're entitled to your opinion, but for me personally I think that In Rainbows is their best album.

It's my favorite too.

My guess is that they don't want "jigsaw" to be a modern day "creep."

Yeah good point, they never want to be known as "one hit wonders."

i've been playing guitar for ten years and have a pretty strong background in music.....i think people that don't know much about music consider these guys to be gods. they create this aura about radiohead and i dont think they live up to that. i guess maybe if you just ate a bunch of mushrooms.

TimboSlice :
Yea, there's probably no trick to playing groupings of 3 notes over a 4/4 count, then layering a 5-note grouping as a harmony overtop. The chord progression is totally lame too, zero production value. You can tell they didn't put much time into it and rushed the album to market. They truly are a loser band, and yes, us fags DO need something to listen to (other than Aqua).

Oh, and for those who don't understand what I was talking about, Weird Fishes/Arpeggi.

Faust Arp is poorly composed as well. Talentless.

There's voicing an opinion, then there's misconstruing facts. SoWhat and BloodBath are guilty of the latter.

Its an album like any other so I don't see why people have to think so laterally about it, either loving it or hating it. Its Radiohead people, whether you love them or hate they're one of the only bands that is using the internet to help them in a positive way and show the advantages of using technology instead instead of just bitching about it. They're one of the only bands that still release albums from front to back. And for people calling them talentless, even if you don't like the songs they're still presenting them to their audience in new and exciting ways which is more than I'm sure you can say about a lot of your favourite bands you twat. Dear TimboSlice, I'd love to hear anything you've composed lately and see if anyone gives a shit.

they didn't play jigsaw because they couldn't figure out how to make it sound good live (i think its the scotch mist version i'm thinking of but it sounded terrible). They definately had it figured out when I saw them at the Woodlands Pavillion a few months ago.

faust arp sounds like a movies background music that you hear all the time with some added whispering.....but you're right, the song is PURE GENIUS.....theres no way in a million years i'd be able to hit those notes on vocals, truly impressive

I actually liked the Scotch Mist version of Jigsaw, particularly the more prominent Odnes Martnot part. I think it would have sounded better if they had kept the bass though. It it's as good as or better than Scotch Mist, I'll probably want to buy this.

Don't worry, I got your sarcasm right away. I guess you just kind of have an eye for it

I enjoy Radiohead quite a bit. Every album sounds good to me, but in very different ways, because they don't wanna keep their sound the same every cd. Which is what most bands should be doing, but can't/don't.
