Radiohead Album Vinyl Reissues

artist: radiohead date: 07/10/2008 category: upcoming releases

Radiohead and Coldplay will have their previous albums reissued on vinyl next month, as part of a new series in conjunction with Capitol and EMI, billed as "From The Capitol Vaults".

Four of Radiohead's albums - "OK Computer", "Kid A", "Amnesiac", "Hail To The Thief" - will be available in August 19th, with "Pablo Honey" and "The Bends" to follow shortly after.

As for Coldplay, both "Parachutes" and "A Rush Of Blood To The Head" will be given the vinyl treatment.

The reissues include remastered music pressed on high quality vinyl and housed inside artwork that replicates the original issues.

Thanks for the report to Angryape.com.

Capitol and EMI trying to sponge even more money out of their bands. Not cool.

I hope they aren't as expensive as the $40 copies of The Bends and OK Computer at my record store. If they're affordable, I'll buy. I love vinyl and I love Radiohead.

I don't listen to much Radiohead, but if anyone was wondering how much these cost, Circuit City has a good vinyl selection and has those albums listed. Just search for "Artist" and then "LP".

Just a tip for those wondering where to buy cheap vinyl.

$40?!?! I'd move to a location with a less expencive record shop. I paid about $14 for my copy of OK Computer...

Well most records are pretty reasonable, I got my In Rainbows for thirteen bucks. It's just that these seem to be special editions or imports or something.

They released the vinyl version as part of the Disc Box last year. I don't know if they're still selling it.

This would be awesome to have all of Radioheads stuff on vinyl, but idk if I'll buy it.Just for the same reason that I didn't buy the greatest hits album (altho I really wanted to give into temptation).Record companies trying to squeeze every penny out of them, and they didn't even aprove of the greatest hits release. I'd like to hear what Radiohead thinks about the reissues first

I think this should be the future. I am not a big fan or re-realising there catalogues but if a bands releases it on vinyl. Then yea I will buy. As CD's are dyeing out I think bands should release more Vinyls.

The Bends was $40 at my record shop too. Beatles reissues were $35 a piece. (Except Abbey Road which was oddly $18.) Do these companies really think that's a fair price? Dead Kennedys reissues were $10 each. Ramones are no more than $14. Hopefully these will be fairly priced.

i will boycott this
just like i did with the radiohead boxset
and the radiohead greatest hits cd and dvd
not f***kin cool i used to like emi
and i dnt get why people are saying vinyls are rare, if you go to zavvi or hmv in a big city like manchester they are quite common, as well as at the independent stores :S
