Guns N' Roses CD Is Done

According to BW&BK, Guns N’ Roses fan site Here Today... Gone To Hell! reports that bassist Tommy Stinson (GN’R, ex-The Replacements) was interviewed on Q104.3, New York's only classic rock station January 30th.

The following are a couple of Chinese Democracy updates pulled from the chat:

Q: Where are the... Are the tracks pretty much done and they're just trying to find a date to release or there are a few more things to do?

A: The artwork, all those little things like that, getting all the, you know... The particulars, the little bits done... so they can actually get a release date and put it out.

So the music is done?

The music's done! It's been done... for a while.

In regards to GN’R’s abandoned 2002 tour, Tommy says, “There was a problem with the promoting aspect of that tour... They pulled the plug on it and I can't really go into it".

People think VR sucks because they are a HUGE disappointment, not because they want to relive GNR. With the talent in that band they should have been able to come up with some original music instead of these old riffs that sound like they were thrown off of old GNR and STP records. I can't Believe the crap im hearing. If anyone who comments hear knew anything about music they would know this: 1.The original GNR killed. they were awsome. 2. Velvet Revolver revived music. They saved music from over distorted chords and screaming lyrics. not to mention all the computerized crap people nowadays call music. 3. Axl Rose has lost it. I've heard the song ''Oh, My God'' from Democracy and it's horrible. His voice is computerized and you can't even hear the notes because of the heavy distortion. I don't know if anyone has heard any of the new GNR, but it is absolutely NOTHING like the old GnR. No old members (besides Axl), and its sounds completely different. It's like industrial semi Nu-Metal. Heavy, heavy distortion (POWER CHORDS COUGH COUGH), electronic voice synthesizers...I think Axl should just change the name, but he wants to keep the old name because of the popularity he'll gain by people thinking they'll hear new stuff in the style of the old stuff (jackass, work for it like a real man). Velvet Revolver are a good band. Though they probably won't ever live up to be Guns N' Roses or Stone Temple Pilots, but that's obvious. THEY ARE A NEW BAND. As for Guns N' Roses, it of course won't sound the same either, but just like VR it's a new band, just the same name and lead singer. I'm looking forward to new material from both bands. They are both good, so it's stupid to feud against one or the other. As for all of you saying that Chinese Democracy is gonna suck, you have no idea whether or not it will. I've heard some of the stuff that might be on there, and it kicks ass. Even though it does sound different, including Axl. So don't say it sucks before it gets released, because chances are if and when it does 99% of the people that are saying it sucks will most likely listen to it.

Now we all need to remember, that Axl is an amazing vocalist, hell if GnR had a bad vocalist they'd be just like Velvet Revolver, if you have heard him sing Madagascar at Rio, that's live, you'd realize this CD is gonna be amazing. slash is so much better then kirk or satriani or vai or any of the greats. just because you can play 15 note a second does not make you a good guitarist. slashs music has feeling and passion, just listen to the solo on fall to pieces it fits perfectly with the anguish ridden lyrics of scott.
scott has a better voice then axl he is more poetic and his presence live on stage is meant to be way better then axl's.
now you can't doubt it but vr are the greatest band now and will be the greatest band of the 00's.

Despite what some people think, the album hasnt been worked on for 10 years. There wasn't a full band until they went on tour. How can you make a CD when people are quiting and leaving. Its been delayed due to the release of "Greastest Hits" cd, and the legal problems. Second, people think the whole cd is full of techno rock songs, like Oh my God. They only made that song cuz it fit the movie it was put in "End of Days". The rest of their songs sound nothing like Oh my God. The only problem i c is who is gonna replace buckethead, cuz he was great. He was a perfect replacement for Slash. The guy is insane on guitar, but his look didnt really fit with the band.

Velvet Revolver was a let down. I do not know what the problems were but Axl needs to discuss their issues with the rest of the original members. Maybe over a nice bottle...
