GN'R: 'Chinese Democracy' To Be Bluegrass?

A source close to the band Guns N' Roses have told the TheSpoof.com that the new Guns N' Roses album "Chinese Democracy" will be in fact a bluegrass album.

"This is shocking," says fan Billy Walters. "I can't believe GN'R would do that kind of album, it will be a real disappointment to a lot of long time fans."

While calls to Guns N' Roses management have not been returned,and the bands label has only said "No comment."

It has been rumored that Guns N' Roses only remaining original member vocalist W. Axl Rose has gone crazy, at least that is what one fan thinks. "I don't know what is wrong with Axl these days," says Lisa Thornsbear, "but releasing a bluegrass album is just crazy."

i can't believe they put this on here.....on a side note, i have the chinese democracy album and it blows VR out of the water....much better musicianship and much more rich material....axl is a prick but he does put together good music and i've seen the new GNR in concert and VR in concert. there is not even a comparison in the ability of the 2 bands.....i was blown away by the new GNR and not all that impressed by VR

I very much doubt that this is true, as several songs have leaked (some of which are meant to be on the album), and they weren't bluegrass. I also very much doubt that Axl would keep that sort of secret for so long, because all he would be doing is massively letting down fans looking for another Guns N Roses rock album.

j/w but has anyone here ever actually listened to or seen a bluegrass band? i saw ricky skaggs (a well-known (in the bluegrass world) player) and it blew me away. the vocals sometimes can get annoying, but when one actually looks at the talent that each one of the musicians in the band has, one will be very impressed. i was suprised to see no drummer on stage when i thought i could clearly hear it. but yeah, if you get the chance to, go see a bluegrass band. dont judge before then.

The album does exist....and it is all rock.

They played in KROCK 106.1, in LA, about 4 or 5 months ago....3 or 4 songs. Sounded like good old, standard GnR.

ok... lots to say... first, people really dont know what bluegrass is? wtf? second, its obviously a prank which i figured out the first 2 secs of reading it bc its from a website called spoof.com. so also people dont know what a spoof is. wtf? third, just because people are p###ed off bc the album isnt coming out, it doesnt mean u say stupid stuff like axl sucks. he may be a little crazy but the man is a great song writer and has put out some great stuff.

velvet revolver does not = gnr, bc it is missing axl and izzy (screw gilby he didnt write anything with them) who are both great song writers... much better than scott weiland.

and lastly, slash is an amazing guitarist bc he doesnt just rely on technical stuff like buckethead and bumblefoot. technically they are prob better and faster and all that stuff, but thats only a small part of playing guitar. slash knows melody, he knows soul, and he knows dynamics. that said, he isnt as good a song writer without axl. and im about the biggest slash fan there is, its just i understand reality.

oh and one more thing, those of u that say the old gnr suck... well just whatever u prob think that playing as loud and as fast as u can for 4 minutes is the only way to rock out. i guarantee even todays death metal bands give props to guns n roses as one of the best rock bands of all time.

axl rose is just really ego driven, he doesnt suck, hes a great musician. he might act like a total *******, but dont we all sometimes. personally i dont actually like velvet revolver. doesnt appeal to me. i prefer the old guns and roses sound that they had back in the day.
