Down Plan Next Album

According to Metalunderground.com, Down is rumored to be gearing up for the follow-up to last year's highly acclaimed "Over The Under". No further more information is currently available.

According to the report, the new record will be called Down IV, and it will be released sometime next year if the band does not plan to start recording in 2010. Along with a new record, Down is also planning their first-ever live DVD, possibly including their live performances in Europe, which were shot by Jim Van Bebber.

If the band's next album comes out in 2010, its release will based on the odd-numbered gaps, example: "Down IV" will come out three years after "Over The Under", which came out five years after "Down II", following "NOLA", which was released seven years earlier.

I think those rumors are actually fake. Down are not planning a new album anytime soon, they're still touring like crazy right now. Maybe after touring they'll start writing a Down IV, then return to the studio sometime in 2009 to start recording it, then release it in 2010 based on the "odd-numbered gaps", but who knows?

Absolutely. Down II was alright too, but Down III I found to be a bit hit and miss.

Down III is good but it is no where near as good as their first album tho.

Even if you don't think "Over the Under" is the best Down album or as good as the others etc., its still way better than a lot of the rock records coming out these days. I used to work at a Music World before they closed the chain and when that new Down album came out it was like "Finally, I can listen to a new album that doesn't suck balls." There's only so much Jay-Z and Alicia Keys you can listen before you want to kill someone.

Another surely great album to look forward to. I hope they're gonna be touring over here again. I went to the last 2 Manchester gigs and they were epic!

DOWN 1 is the best, then Down III, then Down II. Just my two cents. But, much as I adore Down, I'd rather have another COC album for the moment. Pepper is so good live with Down, saw em in April, hope he's as good with COC.
POSTED: 07/11/2008 - 02:17 pm / quote |
Cafas :
I agree with Hdap. The first album was the best, followed by III, and II. II was way too inconsistent. A lot of the songs might be better than anything on III, but at least Over The Under flowed better.

Can't wait NOLA was an immense album, Over the under was alright. Lets hope this new album outreaches NOLA on the scale

"No further more information is currently available."
Then what is the rest of the article?
Anyways, I think Over the Under is a good album, but it's the only one I have so I can't say if it's the best or not.

I have, and its a good album. But there're some songs on it that don't hit home with me to be honest.

I'd rather listen to NOLA.

That's because the Fall Out Boy article has all the negative comments (which are greatly deserved).....

whatever they decide to do, I'm sure it will be kick-ass

Down rapes. I don't know which album is the best. They all own balls in my opinion.
But it's great that they're just going straight back to recording. I like bands who get their shit together that quickly.

haha you idiot. Sysetm will reform, there is no doubt about it. They wouldnt leave a band that successful and just let it be. Thats exactly what the bassist said. You have to keep your ace, which for them is system.

anyways, back on topic, Down F*ckin Rules!
