Dashboard Confessional are hard at work in a New York studio on the follow-up to 2007's stripped down The Shade Of Poison Trees. Producing the new album is Fountains of Wanye bassist and "Stacy's Mom" author Adam Schlesinger.
On Dashboard's website, frontman and founder Chris Carrabba said, "I took a vacation from my social obligations to write songs and before I knew it I had a batch that was new and intriguing and best of all connected to each other ... Who knows how long these things will take. The process is an adventure and a mystery in and of itself."
Carrabba reported to Rolling Stone that Dashboard's pairing with Schlesinger has been a welcome challenge: “Adam is a student of a different world of musicianship than I am. He was studying the Beach Boys while I was studying Jawbreaker. It’s like we speak the same language but just learned it in different countries.”
