'Chinese Democracy' May Be Released This September?

During the E3 video game convention, a member of the Guns N' Roses fan site NewGNR.com questioned a representative from Harmonix Games, the company releasing Rock Band 2, about the new track from Chinese Democracy that is going to be released with the game.

The rep. said that the track, titled "Sheckler's Revenge" sounds nothing like what you would expect from Guns N' Roses. He claimed that the song is in an industrial rock style similar to Nine Inch Nails, and that Buckethead was the guitarist recording the song. He also said that the track would be available right when the game is opened, and wouldn't have to be downloaded separately.

Then, after the Harmonix employee believed the camera to be turned off, he started discussing the possible release of the Chinese Democracy albums. He said that although nothing was confirmed, there may be four albums simultaneously released this September to coincide with the MTV Video Music Awards and the release of Rock Band 2.

In the past it has been rumored that there would be multiple albums, most notably by Sebastian Bach, the close friend of Axl Rose, who claimed that Chinese Democracy was the first of a trilogy of albums. Chinese Democracy has been in the works for upwards of fifteen years, and with the speculation of a release imminent, there’s just one thing to say. I want my Dr. Pepper.

I'm excited, for whenever it will come out. From what I've heard in the past few years of leaks (like Better showing up on radio,) I like it. I'll be the first to admit it is no GNR, but I will also admit, I think it will be an awesome Rose solo record(s). The songs I've heard are completely different than Guns, but this new style kind of grew on me. I wont be throwing out my GNR albums, but this would be a great addition to my GNR Aftermath collection (Velvet Revolver, Snakepit, Izzy's stuff, etc.)

Everytime I read about Guns N' Roses & Chinese Democracy...I always think about that scene in "Walk Hard" where Dewey Cox is trying to conduct a massive symphony with the chimp, calling it his masterpiece or whatever. He shuns his original band members and his "masterpiece" sounds like garbage. I like GnR, but no matter how much Axl puts into this, I highly doubt it'll be on the same caliber as Appetite or even the Illusions.

Sounds like NIN? I'm sorry, I'm a huge NIN fan and this sounds like a bad idea. I don't even like Axl's voice that much and to compare him to Trent and what he does in NIN is nuts. Hopefully if the album is released this year I won't lose all intrest in it and I;ll be proven wrong by the record.

guys guys, everyone hold your horses, Sean a developer from Harmonix made a statement yesterday claiming the video was indeed fake, it was staged by 2 idiots at the RB2 convention. .the whole 4 album idea was made up and any references to shacklers revenge was made up. The video has been taken down from Youtube and they managed to convince a lot of people. .so basically, the video was a fake, the guy didn't work for Rockband, everything in this article is incorrect. UG is a little late on this.

I think people are over-exaggerating when they say GnR isn't GnR without whoever (slash, duff, adler, whoever take your pick). After all GnR was named after 2 people Tracii Guns and Axl Rose. Now given that Tracii hasn't been in it since the early days, Axl has been the Rose the whole time, so nothing has changed.




Even though the name was taken from LA Rose and Hollywood Guns... The rest is just coincidence... I think.

Well I never thought I'd say this but I'd hold off, who knows it maybe released sooner than you think, I mean it does seem like things are slowly working up to a release, I mean from all things considered I think I'm right in saying the album is supposed to be finished including mixing (as far as I'm aware) and the finished product in the hands of Geffen. Although yes it's not the GNR we all know, it's probably gonna sound a bit like the gnr you heard in that last song they did on that film soundtrack End of Days was it? I still look foward to hopefully hearing it!

Definately need a little patience. This album is going to be great, but it'll always be tainted by all the people that won't give it a chance because they hate Axl for some weird reason, even though he probably wrote most of their favourite songs. Anyway, I'm pretty sure that most people interested have already heard "Better" by now, and there is no denying that that song is incredible. It's good to see that Axl still has it.
