Beck 'To Release New Album Within Next 6 Weeks'

Beck is set to release a surprise new album within the next six weeks, according to reports.

The singer, who will appear at the Wireless Festival in London this July, has apparently collaborated with Cat Power on the record.

MTV also claim that the album has been produced by Danger Mouse.

Earlier this year, The Raconteurs rushed a new album out almost as soon as they had finished recording it in the studio.

‘Consolers Of The Lonely’, which bypassed the usual press lead time, was made available on every format on the same day across the world.

I thought The Information was great, a lot better than Guero IMO. I hope this is like it. Then again, even if it isn't, how can Cat Power or DangerMouse make anything bad?

I really disliked the Information fairly strongly. I love most of his older stuff, though, so... let's hope Dangermouse brought him back a step in the right direction.

Sweet, haven't heard Cat Power but hey Beck's expanding his range here which is always a good thing for him. ANd with Danger Mouse producing? Sweet. Hopefully it won't be just a Guero-esque rehash of his old and great days, go Beck!
