Two years after their acclaimed release When It Falls, Zero 7's newest album is here: The Garden. In stores June 6th, The Garden was produced by members Sam Hardaker and Henry Binns and mixed by Phil Brown, who has worked with such luminaries as the Rolling Stones, Brian Eno and Talk Talk. José González is featured on four tracks including a reworking of 'Crosses' from his own album, 'Veneer'. Long time cohort Sia Furler also sings solo on four tracks including 'Throw It All Away'; and duets with Zero 7's own Henry Binns on two others. The Garden sees Zero 7 take a fresher, more upbeat musical direction while still maintaining their trademark sound, and could very well turn out to be the soundtrack of the summer.
The band will be out on the road in the U.S. later on this summer and have one confirmed show at the moment; August 27th at KCRW's World Festival at the Hollywood Bowl along with Gotan Project, Herbert and José González. Tickets are now on sale via ticketmaster.com.
As of today, you can pre-order the album on iTunes and receive two bonus tracks, the video for 'Throw It All Away' and a downloadable booklet. Direct link.
