The Icarus Line have just announced a record release show in Los Angeles and six east coast dates following the July 10th release of their third full-length, Black Lives At The Golden Coast (Dim Mak/V2). The Los Angeles-based five-piece – Joe Cardamone (vocals), Alvin De Guzman (guitar), Jeff ‘The Captain’ Watson (drums), Jason Decorse (bass) and James Striff (guitar) – recently returned from a tour of the UK and Europe with The Lemonheads and will set out with them again in mid-July.
Black Lives… was released in the U.K. (on V2) this week and accolades are rolling in from both continents including a rave from Mojo: "… this third record connects with punk’s menace in its purest form: here you genuinely feel rock being remodeled ad hoc. Black Lives curtain-raises with all the clattering existential terror of PiL’s Theme. What follows is a Raw Power for the Zero Decade, a journey into black noise, which nevertheless permits glimpses of blinding light…"
The Icarus Line formed in the late ‘90’s when the band members were still teenagers and almost immediately attracted the attention of press and fans alike for their sound as well as their on-and-off stage escapades. The band has harnessed their wicked impulses and with the release of Black Lives.. Cardamone offers, "You could say that our art has finally caught up with our antics."
