Sworn Enemy Join Dying Fetus For North American Tour

artist: sworn enemy date: 05/12/2008 category: press releases

Sworn Enemy have toured the world relentlessly throughout 2008 and continues adding onto their undying schedule as they prepare to embark on a North American run alongside Dying Fetus, Origin and Thy Will Be Done. This trek, which kicks off on May 9th, marks the group’s third trek of North America in support of Maniacal and they show no signs of slowing down anytime soon. See below or visit MySpace to view their complete itinerary.

Lorenzo Antonucci (guitars) further comments on the upcoming tour: “We very excited to be on tour with Dying Fetus and we feel that it’s going to be a rager. We have not toured with Fetus yet and it’s definitely a different crowd for us. We’ve done tours with Six Feet Under and Skinless before and we’ve always had a blast playing in front of the death metal crowd. We are going to be playing the more our metal sounding songs and hopefully the crowd enjoys them.

I also wanted to announce my new YouTube show called Mamaluke TV. It features interviews with band members and behind the scene footage of what really goes on in the touring world. It’s probably the funniest shit I've done in my life and if you know me you should be excited. We will hopefully have something up online and our MySpace page in the next few weeks. You ain’t gonna believe this shit. We look forward to seeing you all soon.

A video for “A Place of Solace,” the first single from the new album Maniacal, was recently shot by acclaimed director David Brodsky (GWAR, The Red Chord). Click the following link below to check it here.

Throw all your preconceived notions out the window, because this is an all new Sworn Enemy, determined to carve out their own unique new path within the metal genre.

I just checked out Dying Fetus on MySpace, they're like Cannibal Corpse as far as I can tell. I listened to the first song, it didn't hold my interest at all, but that's how it goes with a singer that can't be understood and totally unimaginative rhythm guitar.

Then I looked up the song's lyrics and laughed at how much effort must have been put into them, ironic when you can't understand a word. I mean, lines like

"Approach by stealth, in silence I strike, penetrate all their defenses
Enemy lines, dissected, besieged, annihilation to meet my objective"

could actually be interesting, sung in a melodic manner.

"Pissing in the mainstream" was more tolerable.
