Steven Adler Arrested In LA

artist: guns n roses date: 07/21/2008 category: general music news

Former Guns N' Roses drummer Steven Adler was arrested on Friday in Hollywood for alleged drug possession.

Los Angeles police spokesman Richard French says the 43-year-old Adler was arrested around 4 a.m. Friday by officers called to a home where a man reportedly was creating a disturbance and refusing to leave.

Adler was booked for investigation of possessing narcotics, being under the influence and for an outstanding warrant. He was jailed on $45,000 bail.

Adler was an original member of Guns N' Roses but was fired from the band in 1990 due to excessive drug use.

Thansk for the report to Billboard.com.

I hope hes not back on drugs, hes already screwed up his entire life because of them, he can barely speak and was fired from one of the biggest bands in the world, how many times can you make the same mistakes.

So much that he couldn't make it the whole way through a song anymore, it's an ironic way to get kicked out of Gnr really.

Hm, was it Izzy Stradlin who sang about "washed out has-beens, out of the game"? Anyway, Adler is a lucky bastard. He happened to be drumming for a band that'd go on to sell millions of record and earn him millions in royalties, the fact that he still, after 20 years, can afford so much drugs means he must be pretty well off. Probably hasn't had to work a day since Appetite. I can't say I feel sorry for him, but I do hope he quits the drugs though.

Hopefully he uses up all of his drug money pretty soon so he can be forced to find a real job and work for a living instead of living off royalties he's still making from an album released 21 years ago.

Watch some interviews with him, this guy is practically a vegetable. It'd be interesting to see him sit down behind a drumset and attempt to play though.

addiction to stuff like that doesnt end easy. it's even harder if you have nothing to do. i think most people that end up being successful at quitting drugs basically transfer that addiction to something else, work, cigarettes, food, etc and just overdo that as well. since adler is unemployed, i bet its nearly impossible for him to quit.

How so? Slash kicked his drug habit, and has been making music and retaining his integrity without stopping since GnR broke up. How is he "one-up'd" by Adler? What has he done since Appetite, besides drugs?

it wasnt neccesarily how much he was taking, but it was cuz the rest of the band had quit drugs to focus on making the use your illusions albums and steven had gone to rehab plenty of times, only to check himself out of there, and slash said that steven could barely make it through practice without screwing up the song in some way, so they go rid of him

Actually, I think the Red Hot Chili Peppers take that crown. All four members had debilitating addictions throughout most of the 80's, with one dying, and another getting kicked out, and then coming back and still shooting up after the death of his best friend.

I hope hes not back on drugs, hes already screwed up his entire life because of them, he can barely speak and was fired from one of the biggest bands in the world, how many times can you make the same mistakes.

Hate to break it to you, but I dont think he was dealing them, so he must be on them. Im sure he has enough money where he doesnt have to deal them, so instead that means the only explanation is hes doing them.

No where in the original post did it ever mention Adler dealing.... ???

Yes but the guy said I hope its not back on them, so if he isnt on them the only other reason he would have them is dealing them, which he isnt. Thats what I meant.
