McCartney And Starr To Reunite?

artist: beatles date: 05/09/2008 category: general music news

Beatles fans have been sent into a frenzy over rumours Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr are set to reunite on stage in an historic performance.

To celebrate the city being named 2008's Capital of Culture, the Fab Four's hometown of Liverpool, England is hosting the Sound City music festival, where MCCartney is set to take to the stage.

And after Liverpool City Council granted McCartney's production company $3.4 million (GBP1.7million) to stage the event, fans are now speculating the singer is secretly planning a special gig - with his former bandmate Starr.

A source tells British newspaper the Daily Star, "There's been a lot of chat in Beatles fan chatrooms on the internet and the feeling is that it could happen."

The four-day festival takes place from 27-30 May at the Hard Days Night Hotel and various other city venues.

Won't Ringo get lynched if he goes to Liverpool for his comments about the city earlier this year?

Maybe, but if he's with McCartney people will give him a little leeway. McCartney has that power over people.

A quote in the Daily Star said it COULD happen. Now, the Star isn't exaclty the most reliable or highbrow of papers, so it's most likely complete bollocks - just pure speculation.

Keith Moon was friends with Ringo, he taught Zak how to play the drums, that's why Roger Daltrey said Zak was the next best thing.
