Linkin Park Building Homes In New Orleans

According to Blabbermouth.net, on Wednesday, February 27, mega-platinum Grammy-winning rock band Linkin Park took a break from their current tour in support of new album, "Minutes To Midnight", and travelled to New Orleans to help families displaced by Hurricane Katrina. Following Tuesday night's show at the Sommet Center in Nashville, the band — vocalist Chester Bennington, drummer Rob Bourdon, guitarist Brad Delson, DJ Joe Hahn, bassist Dave "Phoenix" Farrell and vocalist Mike Shinoda — headed to Central City, New Orleans where, alongside opening act Coheed And Cambria, they joined volunteers from Music for Relief, and Habitat homeowner families from New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity to build homes in the damaged Gulf Coast area.

Linkin Park's nonprofit organization, Music For Relief, initiated a partnership with Hollywood for Habitat For Humanity to fund and build homes in hurricane ravaged areas. New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity was chosen to be the beneficiary of these funds, with multiple families benefitting as a result of Music for Relief's extraordinary efforts. Music For Relief raised the monies for these homes through an innovative multi-platform campaign including donations, merchandise sales, ticket auctions and other activities online and onsite during Linkin Park's Projekt Revolution tour. The organization will continue to raise funds through the current Linkin Park arena tour at the Music for Relief booth on site for each date, as part of their ongoing relationship with Hollywood for Habitat for Humanity.

Gotta love this band and the things that they do. Even if you don't like their music, you gotta give them respect for the way they help out.

There's only one picture with Chester, and I don't see anyone else working in it either. I think they were on break or something.

That's real great of this band.
they started off great. I personally don't like anything past hybrid theory.
but what this band has become is actually a great thing.
I'm glad to see that some bands/arists haven't forgotten where they've come from and realize its okay to help others in the world.

    I give them props man.

i personally like linkin park and have for years. Its good to see genuine guys like that who care unlike some stuck up, self obsessed celebrities who would rather make money for themselves and not help the needy. Good on you linkin park

props to Coheed too guys, they helped as well.

Although the picture of Phoenix and Mr Hahn probably sums it all up... it's just like construction workers in Britain. One guy works, 3 guys stand around watching :p
