All-American Rejects To Go On Hiatus

All-American Rejects have announced plans to take a break for at least a year after they wrap up their current touring schedule. The band's frontman Tyson Ritter told Billboard:

"I think its gonna be another year before anybody hears from us again. I think the world needs to take a breath away from the All-American Rejects, I think people make mistakes by coming back too quick. If you don't disappear and you're always in the spotlight, then you're just another Britney Spears, y'know?"

During the off-time, Ben Weasel's favorite band will be working on some side projects. Though Ritter doesn't specify which, it's possible we'll be hearing more material from the hardcore/metal side-project These Enzymes which includes Chris Gaynor and Mike Kennerty of the band.

Last, Ritter is planning to work on his clothing line Butter but adds:

"I want it to grow naturally don't want it to be completely whored-out like Clandestine from [Fall Out Boy's] Pete Wentz."

These guys are from my home state and I still don't particularly like them. I think the band is great, but I'm sorry, I just can't stand the singer. Nothing against him personally, but I don't like his voice, the way he uses it, and the vocal melodies he makes. Maybe if they released an instrumental CD, I might like that a lot more

You know I will admit I talk a lot of shit on pop-punk, but they right damn catchy songs. The kind of songs that get stuck in your head and make you feel like a dick because you listen to metal and have an All-American Rejects song stuck in your head. the riffs are alright, but the singer dosent fit in you know? i wouldnt call theese guys one of my favorite bands or even one i listen to, but they have one or 2 songs that are good to hear now and then. but yeah, the band has theese emo haircuts all well kept and whatnot, then the singer has a mop on his head lol

The first thing that I though was that the band might be breaking up because bands usually just take time off after recording and touring, rather than make an annoucement that they are taking time off. Maybe I am wrong.

they're an awesome band. i can see why people might not like em cos tyson's voice is a love or hate kinda thing. personally i love em, but i suppose every band needs a break now and then.
